Much of Public Works' equipment is in the shop frequently, which means the equipment is not out in the City working. It also means that the City is sinking maintenance dollars into equipment that is far past its useful life.
This project would allow the Public Works Department to retire some of their old equipment and replace it with new equipment. This would get the crews out working in the City more efficiently and reducing the maintenance spending.
This proposal identifies four needed pieces of new equipment: two truck mounted excavators, one vac/wash truck, and one backhoe. The cost of these 4 pieces of equipment are estimated to cost $1,500,000.
